Guide to Collection

Dropping off or picking up cargo? There are a few things you will need to do before arriving onsite to make sure your visit is as smooth as possible.

Collecting Cargo

  1. Clear your Cargo

    Before you can collect your cargo, you will need to ensure it has received the thumbs up from the relevant government agencies. Your customs broker can help you through this process.

  2. Lodge your Delivery Order

    The Delivery Order (D/O) is issued by the shipping line and instructs the release of your cargo. The D/O must be lodged with MIRRAT before arranging a time to collect. The D/O can be lodged by emailing a copy to MIRRATshippingschedules@mirrat.com.au be sure to include details about your shipment and relevant contact details.

  3. Make an Appointment

    To reduce congestion and improve turnaround times we operate a Vehicle Booking System (VBS). This means you need to let us know what day and time you would like to collect your cargo. You can register for access to the VBS here.  
    Once you have made and confirmed your appointment you are all set to collect your cargo.

  4. Collect your Cargo

    To collect your cargo, you will require three things.

    1. A confirmed appointment
    Make sure you arrive during your appointment slot and bring with you your appointment confirmation receipt.

    2. A valid Maritime Security Identification Card (MSIC)
    Everyone requiring access to our terminal is required to hold and present a valid MSIC. Don’t have an MSIC? No problem, we can provide an escort, check out our Tariffs page for our latest pricing.

    3. Completed site induction To keep you and other site users safe while visiting the terminal everyone requiring access must complete our site induction. The induction outlines safety protocols and what to do in case of an emergency. Register you company to access and complete the induction before arrival otherwise allow an additional 30 minutes when visiting.

Delivering Cargo

  1. Clear your Cargo

    Before you can drop off your cargo, you will need to ensure it has received the thumbs up for the relevant government agencies. Your customs broker can help you through this process.

  2. Make an Appointment

    To reduce congestion and improve turnaround times we operate a Vehicle Booking System (VBS). This means you need to let us know what day and time you would like to collect your cargo. You can register for access to the VBS here.   Once you have made and confirmed your appointment you are all set to deliver your cargo.

  3. Deliver your Cargo

    To access our terminal, you will require four things.

    1. A confirmed appointment
    Make sure you arrive during your appointment slot and bring with you a copy of your appointment confirmation receipt.

    2. An Export Receival Advice (ERA)
    The ERA helps us identify what you are delivering so that we can make sure your cargo gets to where it has to go. 
    You will be asked to present the ERA when delivering cargo and the information on the ERA must match the cargo you are delivering.
    If you don’t have an ERA your customer, broker, or shipping line will be able to provide you with one.
